It does not cost much and it depends on what order And since it's on the pier, everything costs more in the city
Not cheap and neither are any of the seafood restaurants next door BUT everything was freshly cooked at Nick's and was very nice. the crab cook was great, gave us a little extra as we waited a long time in line. Thank you
The small cozy atmosphere along with the delicious clam chowder bread bowls made me want to go back, but the 4 dollar can of coke was kind of a turn away
Seafood restaurant serves both seafood and other dishes. Friendly service, but tight seats.its great for family as they have many choices and main seafood course serves free bread and a small bowl of clam chowder. Good wine list. We had boiled crab and wine. Crabs are fresh but other dishes are not excited. Its acceptable.
The soup was cold and had no flavor the shrimp salad was lettuce with 9 baby shrimp and a soggy tomato on it. Bread was rock hard asked for different batch and the second basket was just as hard. The cheese raviolis with meat sauce were not even warm. Nicely refused the dinner and they still made us pay $21 for a white Russian drink and a cup of clam chowder that we didn't finish. My first time in San Francisco and i will never forget my first bad restaurant. No one even apologized. I am so completely disappointed. I cant believe they charged us for anything.
Food was mediocre but then again you don't break the bank. Portions are generous
The place had a very nice a cosy feel to it. The food was decent.
Loved it, would return. Real nice lobster bisque and mixed seafood cioppino fish. Flavoursome. Outstanding service too.
Locate at fishman’s whaf, nice and very fresh seafood.Waiters here are very energetic with awesome service mind. Food serve here are quick, even though there are crowd with customers.Seafood taste here is very delicious, i recommend clam chowder, i think it is the best chowder i ever try.PS. Lobsters here are very fresh, they still alive.
I come here specifically for their Lobster Bisque. It is delicious! I've also had the Linguine with clams in garlic butter sauce; also delicious! I'll keep coming back!
The food is excellent but the place is too small.
We ended up spending the night in San Fran after missing a connecting flight to Hawaii. We went for a stroll down to the piers and this was one of the only places open late. We were hungry and the atmosphere seemed great. The serving staff seemed like they were competing for tables and didn't really help each other out. It was a little strange, also the food was really pricy. It was a good experience but probably won't be going back.
I only tend to leave reviews if the place is terrible 1 star or a place I'll remember and thankfully nicks is a place I'll remember for the beautiful cod and chips I had, they came out like fish goujons which I was a bit suspicious at first, however once I started eating them I was telling everyone how amazing they were and even offering a bit for them to try. The cod was so tasty and soft and lightly battered. Probably the best battered cod I've ever had. If a UK restaurant or chip shop served this id be a regular customer. Wasn't a big fan of the clam chowder but that's just down to personal preference.the garlic chips and onion ring starters were also amazing. If I'm in SF again I'll definitely be revisiting.
Enjoyed the lobster bisque it was delicious!! Crab sandwich was filling and the calamari in vinegar was delicious as well! For the servings smaller portions was provided it was a late night dinner on the streets of fisherman’s wharf so it’s like a standing situation bu the sidewalk not the cleanest situation as well but it’s still good to try something more locale.
We were looking for a crab chowder around the neighborhood and ended up dining here.Well, i guess, it was okay, but nothing really special as i didn't taste any crab in my chowder (kinda blend). Decor was great though, so only that deserves extra credit.
We ate an late lunch/early dinner. I am not a seafood person, so the restaurant let me order kid's meal of chicken fingers. 😂 Drinks were good and the others in the party enjoyed their seafood.
It was delicious!! Great Crab chowder breadbowl.
Not that good. The Calamari is very bland and the prawns are not seasoned at all. Way to more choices on the pier
The fish and sourdough bread was amazing. The service was really friendly and warm. I recommend this place highly!
Excellent food, highly recommend the spicy garlic crab.
We went here to experience Fisherman’s Wharf and unfortunately from the beginning to end this restaurant and our waiter were big disappointments. Our Waiter’s attitude was terrible and he didn’t know how any of the items on the menu were prepared. Like grilled and served with butter or what. The normal things you would want to know when ordering. The hot dogs from the street vendors were better and at least they were friendly.
Try the crab chowder. It very good. This place is pretty cramped tho. It seems it's the only way they could accommodate all their customers!
Food was good and delicious. Service was awesome. Highly recommended.
Super friendly staff greeted us at the door and directed us to a table looking out over the harbour. Drinks arrived quickly and our food order was delivered shortly after that. Everything was hot and tasty.
Traditional, busy, bustling Italian place. Mixed clientele, quick service and reasonable prices given the prime location in Fishermans Wharf San Fran
Fairly cheap place around the touristy pier area. Very decent portions. The calamari portion was huge (13$). Place is a bit older but hey, that's what happens when buildings are repurposed. With each entree you can get a clam chowder, lobster bisque or salad. That's pretty great deal considering buying a bowl of clam chowder at the pier is about 10$. Here you'll get a bowl of chowder and an entree between 18$ to 35$, depending what kind of seafood you want to get. If you want more like lobster and crab then expect to pay around 40$ to 55$ an entree
Friendly service! Excellent food. I will definitely make my way back there again someday. JUST AS AN FYI. The tip is included in the bill written.Pic of receipt that was left at our table. We still left waitress an additional 20.00 because we didn't realize tip was included in bill amount. Waitress realized that she gave wrong receipt so total came out to $165.00 about $25 of that was tip. She showed us correct receipt showing 165.00 but didnt give it to us we left later realized that she ended up with a$50.00 tip, scam? We will never know.... we gave her the 16.02 plus the 20.00 and another 25.00 due to her adding it in total one again.
Their bread bowls are so good!! I enjoyed it there. The food was on the expensive side but definitely worth it.
Open late, which was nice after a late trip to Alcatraz Island. Tasty food.
It's nice inside if you wanted to dine in, kind of small. But the real deal is outside on the sidewalk you could buy the meals by the pound
They were busy when we came for dinner. My friend and I had crab cakes and, boy, were they delicious! There were hardly any fillers - majority of what I saw was crabmeat. They were nicely seasoned, too, in that all you need is to add some lemon juice to them. You almost don't need the tartar sauce. My friend also ordered the crab chowder and enjoyed it immensely. The dining area was small and the tables felt cramped, but it's also the charm of the place. The restroom was slightly filthy, though. Felt like it needed some deep cleaning. The service staff were nice and very accommodating. I would definitely return to eat here again.
Tourist trap that should be avoided at all costs. Food is terrible. None of their bisque or chowder has any actual seafood, just “flavoringâ€. If you order lobster it comes mixed with shrimp, I didn’t order shrimp, I ordered a whole lobster. Over priced and underwhelming.
This place should actually deserve a Michelin Star. It is great, and I really don’t see why this gets a 3.7 stars. The service and waiters are extremely nice and the seafood is very fresh. The Fettuccine with Bay Scallops and Shrimp has a strong garlic taste, but is balanced out with Alfredo. This is a great restaurant and I plan to visit some time later.
Great little restaurant, fruendly staff, quick and wonderful service
I love the food, but the reason for this rating is that the person in the front of the store asking if we would like to go in asked us “ are you okay with the pricesâ€..... what is that suppose to mean.... and why didn’t he ask everyone that was coming in the same question. Good food for the guy in the front needs to go....
Incredible food! Been back several times and never disappointed.
Food was only OK, but worst is you'll feel like crammed cattle if eating inside. The booths are small and the table is small too. They would make customers more comfortable by taking one table out per row and spreading a few inches to everyone. The tables have no leg room, so if you're tall, or have more than 2 in your party, you'll be knocking knees, which is unfortunate, because it's never fun to be uncomfortable while you're trying to enjoy food. We ordered a whole crab and two pasta dishes. The crab was over cooked, and I wasn't impressed with the pasta.
My favorite place to get bread bowl clam chowder. I come here every time I’m in town.
The restaurant doesn't appear to be that nice inside but they have some really good seafood. The clam chowder bread bowls are awesome along with the calamari.
My family and I have been coming to Nick’s for over a decade. It is our favorite seafood stop in San Francisco. They’re always consistent with their food and it always tastes so delicious. This place is one of the many few still existing down by on Fisherman’s Warf. My family and I actually got so much food. Not to mention while we waited for my family Eduardo hooked us up with some shrimp and cheesy bread. This place is so kind and hospitable. The food is always consistent. It will always taste the same as you had it before. The whole crab is flavorful and spicy. It comes with a bowl of clam chowder. The chowder is always rich and creamy. The calamari is crunchy on the outside and squishy in the inside. It has so much flavor. Everything here is so great. I highly suggest you going here before anywhere else at the Warf for seafood.
Amazing clam chowder, wayyy better than boudin.!
Went for lunch with my mother and best friend who was visiting from out of state. A bit pricier than we are used to, but it's Fisherman's Wharf. The food was excellent. Fresh crab and sourdough bread! Amazing! I was a waitress for over 30 years and am very critical of other servers. Our server, Fernando was great. He was attentive without being intrusive. He was very friendly and you could tell it was genuine. We had a great time and will definitely go back when we are in the mood to treat ourselves to a fabulous meal .
Super tight seats making it uncomfortable to eat. Good drinks and service. The seafood has NO seasoning or taste to it. We ordered the deep fried platter and it was so bland - they must not season the batter before frying the seafood. The clam chowder was rather basic, and the Alfredo had no flavor either whatsoever. Pretty much a waste of $90. We definitely felt lied to from our waitress about the taste of the food.
Not bad at all. Don't know why the rating is so low. The seafood was very fresh and staff are very friend. Clam chowder is better than many places. Only conplain is the restaurant is very old and not so clean.
My girlfriend took me on our first date here and I loved the food the bread was baked too long for me but it was a great experience oh and the soup was amazing
Small Italian seafood place. Feels old-worldy.
This place has one of the best garlic spicy crab it is so good and they make it right in front of you what’s better than that I just also tried clam chowder for the first time I was always sketchy about clam chowder never tried it before but here I tried it for my first time , my God it is so good in a bread bowl with the soft bread gut and some clam chowder so good highly recommend one of the best tasting place on the pier.
Crowded but food and service were good. The fried calamari is crispy and meaty. I ordered the New York Strip and "jumbo" prawns. The steak was cooked well but the prawns were just normal shrimps. Overall pretty good experience.
Good food! Fast great service! Definitely recomend!
Service was a bit slow, but the staff were nice. It’s a small place, and a bit cramped, but it’s historic and has a decent ambiance otherwise. Food was fantastic! We had lobster bisque in a bread bowl and fried calamari, both of which were terrific.
imagine being around San Francisco at night and you're hungry but all restaurants are already closed. At one point you smell a good fish & chips and a gentleman across the street tells you "hey we're open, come and eat with us!" fantastic right? My friend and I rushed to this picturesque seafood restaurant right on the pier. I found the setting and the decor really beautiful with a little Italian touch! the staff was very kind and quick to serve us a good fish & chips and a fried calamari. Probably not the best food I ate in my life but it was good. And then including drinks we spent only $ 20 per person, what more could you ask for? I will be back again and recommend it to everyone!
